John, a federal judge just ruled in favor of the new Georgia Congressional maps moving the district I represent over 20 points to Trump.

This will be a longer email as I explain how we got here and what this means. If you don’t feel like reading the whole thing, you can click here to support my campaign and Blue Amp Action as I’ll need all the help I can get to return to Congress.

Earlier in December, the Republican-controlled Georgia state legislature redrew our Congressional maps. In a blatant attempt to force me out of my seat, they gerrymandered the district I represent to favor the GOP by +20 points.

Alongside many voting rights organizations and activists, I vowed to fight against these new maps passing. But on 12/28, the federal court made its ruling in favor of these maps.

I won’t sugarcoat it, John: this is a disastrous outcome for voting rights and democracy.

However – I refuse to sit back quietly and let Republicans get their way. I made a promise that I won’t stop fighting in Congress until my communities are kept safe and protected. I won’t let the GOP decide when my time in Congress is over.

Let’s recall that this is the second time Georgia Republicans have drawn a district I represent over 20 points to Donald Trump. I’m fully prepared to return to Congress in 2024.

But John, I’d be lying if I told you it’s an easy path ahead of me. I only have a few months before this next election, and we need to put my campaign into overdrive.
