Before the year officially ends, I wanted to reach out and tell you about what your grassroots support helped the NDR PAC accomplish in 2023, and the work we still have ahead of us.

This year, thanks to your support, we were incredibly successful in electing Democracy Defenders across the country.

• In Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, our Democracy Defenders defeated election deniers on the states’ highest courts.
• We elected 57 candidates to the Virginia state legislature, securing a Democratic majority in both chambers and flipping the House of Delegates.

We also saw sweeping victories for voters and voting rights advocates in the courts:

• In June, the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed a lower court’s decision that Alabama’s congressional map likely violated Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act in Allen v. Milligan, opening the door to expand representation for voters in the state and across the country.
• In Moore v. Harper, the U.S. Supreme Court also protected checks and balances by rejecting North Carolina Republicans’ attempt to advance the radical independent state legislature (ISL) theory; and protected fair maps enacted by independent commissions and state courts in places that were once heavily gerrymandered.

By continuing our efforts, we can lay the groundwork for many more wins in years to come, but we cannot let our opponents get away with unchecked gerrymandering. With your support, there is a real path to the 2024 elections taking place on maps that are even fairer than the maps we helped secure in 2022.
