Dear Partners,
There's still time to register for today's webinar at 3:00 PM EST ([link removed]) to go over the latest in surprise billing, get plugged into our day of action, and stay for a brief training on in-district legislative visits.
Surprise medical bills – also known as surprise out-of-network “balance bills” – are an unpredictable, egregious health care cost for families that occur even if consumers follow all of the rules laid out by their insurers. They are also incredibly common: one-in-five emergency department visits results in a surprise medical bill and nearly 70 percent of air ambulance patient transports are out of network.
This May, Congress has a chance to act to end surprise medical billing, and that’s why our No Surprises campaign is working to end surprise medical bills with partners all over the country.
