Dear Taxpayer,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Mackie Burr, and for the past five years, I've worked to end taxpayer-funded animal experiments with the White Coat Waste Project (WCW).
Today, I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a plea for your urgent support.
Our latest investigation has uncovered shocking footage of a schnauzer puppy enduring unimaginable cruelty as part of a grotesque government breeding operation at the University of Pennsylvania:
Urgent 12/31 Deadline: 23 more puppies to be slaughtered.
According to the evidence obtained by our team of investigators, this poor puppy was purpose-bred to suffer from a crippling skeletal disease.
She suffered seizures, deafness, blindness, and paralysis.
The twisted white coats filmed her day after day as she tried her hardest to walk. But she could only drag her feeble body across the floor.
Then, the experimenters killed her, harvested her bones, and studied her tiny skull.
She was only six months old.
As someone who has devoted the better part of my career to this cause, I watch videos of animal cruelty all the time. I thought I’d seen it all.
But when I watched this footage for the first time, I immediately broke down in tears.
You see, Taxpayer, this one hit me especially hard because my own beloved rescue dog, Andy, is a schnauzer mix. I couldn’t help but imagine this abuse happening to Andy—my baby, a cherished member of my family.
Dead before they turn six months old. Beagles, hounds, terriers—no breed is off limits.
Equally distressing is that taxpayers have unwittingly footed a staggering $53 million bill for these atrocities so far.
But you know what really sent me over the edge, Taxpayer? That all this wasteful spending and abuse is to study a drug that’s already approved for humans.

Taxpayer, we cannot in good faith allow our government to continue funding the senseless torture of schnauzers, beagles, terriers, and other pets. And your help is needed more urgently than ever.
EMERGENCY 12/31 DEADLINE: In just a few hours, the National Institutes of Health is going to ram through MORE tax dollars for these experiments.
Unless we fund our rapid response campaign to stop the payout, 23 more innocent puppies will be bred to suffer and slaughtered before they’re six months old.
Taxpayer, will you consider rushing $23 ($1 per puppy) to help us de-fund this abuse and retire the survivors to loving homes?
