As we reflect on the past year and prepare for a productive 2024, I wanted to share a quick update on the progress we’ve made in the Senate.

Whether it’s my work to improve Medicare and Social Security or strengthen our nation’s infrastructure, we’ve made big strides with our Democratic Senate majority under President Biden.

We capped seniors’ out-of-pocket insulin costs at $35 and for the first time ever, Medicare can negotiate drug prices, providing seniors with major savings. I also recently introduced bipartisan legislation to reward health care providers who improve the quality of care – while lowering costs – for Rhode Islanders and all Americans.

Then there’s Democrats’ historic Inflation Reduction Act, which is saving families money on their utility bills. The IRA was a huge step forward in our fight against climate change too, helping steer the planet to safety in the race against climate chaos and its looming economic calamities.

And did you know we helped expand health benefits for veterans by passing the PACT Act? Or that Rhode Island is expected to receive about $2.5 billion from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that I strongly supported – providing funding to replace old lead water pipes, fix roads and bridges, and upgrade our ports?

Then there’s the Supreme Court. You know it’s been a big year for my work to fix that mess and level the playing field for the regular Americans who are up against the special interests swarming around the judiciary. My Supreme Court ethics bill passed out of committee, and there’s much more to come next year in my fight to get dark money away from the Court and out of our politics.

I’m proud of all of this progress, and there’s plenty more to do. That’s why I’m personally asking if you can chip in today to support my re-election campaign before our end-of-year fundraising deadline at midnight tonight. [link removed]

2024 will be a high-stakes year for our democracy. We have to protect the right to vote and do everything in our power to elect Democrats who will support democracy – from re-electing President Biden and Vice President Harris to holding onto our Democratic Senate majority and flipping the House blue. I’ll be on the ballot, and I will need you standing by me.

Thank you again for all of your support. It means so much. It’s an honor to represent Rhode Islanders in the Senate. There is much more work to be done and I look forward to building on our momentum in the new year.
