On average, American women earn 81 cents for every dollar men make doing the exact same work. And the statistics are even worse for women of color. This is not right.

In fact, a member of Congress from Alabama recently tried to mansplain gender equality to Susan. Can you believe that?

The United States was built on the promise of equality. But until women earn the same as men in every line of work, from retail workers and doctors to soccer players, we are failing on this promise.

Congress needs to step in to ensure that no woman is paid unfairly.
