John, as I reflect on the end of 2023 and begin 2024, I'm
reflecting on three things that we have to do to win for women and
democracy.
First, we have to keep winning. We have called for a weekend of
mobilization on the weekend of January 19-21 to kick off the 2024 fight
for reproductive freedom. Since Roe was gutted, we have organized more
than 10,000 actions in every single state, and have helped to drive the
string of ballot initiative wins across the country.

Second, we have to stop underestimating our opponent. Beating Trump in
2020 bought us time, but the fight against fascism is still hot. We can’t
just be good fighters, we need to be good winners and have the resources
and foresight to defend the wins we earn. Ballot initiatives have been
driving wins up and down ballots in beet-red states and blue states alike.
We can win for women and win for democracy at the same time, and in fact,
we must.

We need to start 2024 organizing big to win. We're often asked about our
plans and the impact of abortion on elections. To make a difference, we
must mobilize our base at scale and move forward together. In the coming
year, our focus is on rallying the feminist movement in states with ballot
initiatives, ensuring abortion rights are at the forefront of 2024
elections.
