Dear John,
It’s December 31st and we’re all saying goodbye to what has felt like an incredibly long year.
For the past twelve months, Mothers Against Greg Abbott has worked tirelessly to fight for all parents, and for our kids rights too. We’ve supported moms, and others like us, in Ohio, and in Virginia, and in Kansas as women’s healthcare was put front and center in state elections — and we won so big!
We survived four unexpected special sessions in the Texas Lege and helped deliver a resounding defeat to Governor Abbott on his school voucher program. We navigated the impeachment of A.G. Paxton and his subsequent Senate trial, and all the fights over children’s books, public school funding, who gets treated with basic decency (and who doesn’t), and who gets to decide the issues that matter the most to all of us.
Y’all, we even survived George Santos.
We couldn’t have been such a strong force for good without the love and support of folks like you.
This year may be ending, but the challenges we face aren’t going away. As 2024 begins, we all know what this year will bring. It’s a presidential election year and that means that the fights will only get worse, the stakes will only get higher, and our participation will likely be the difference. And we’ll continue to need your help to make that happen.
We invite you to welcome the new year with a gesture of hope — by making a gift that will help hundreds of thousands of moms, and others like us, fight to protect our future. Please make your final gift of 2023 one that helps protect our nation’s democracy.
