As we wrap up the whirlwind holiday season, I'm reaching out with gratitude for your continued support.
The dawn of 2024 holds immense promise and challenges for our great state, and as I reflect on the past, my personal resolution for the coming year is clear - a commitment to follow through and renewal.
I’m incredibly proud of the work I’ve been able to accomplish in my five years as a legislator — and especially during the past three years serving on the Senate leadership team as the Majority Whip. Under our leadership team, the Senate Democratic caucus has made extraordinary progress on a number of key issues facing Delawareans — from raising wages, to supporting educators, fighting for worker protections and defending reproductive freedom.

Five years ago, on the brink of my first swearing-in, I carried with me the aspirations of the 3rd District. I had knocked thousands of doors, shaping my legislative mission around the needs, hopes, hurts, and dreams of my neighbors.
Entrusted to bring their voices to Dover with a focus on education, economic opportunity and public safety:
* I established the Redding Consortium, securing over $30 million in ongoing investments for Wilmington schools to expand preK seats, support school-led professional development, enhance wraparound services, and bolster extracurricular programming.
* I passed legislation to ease the transition for paraprofessionals to become educators.
* I’ve led legislation aimed at closing the source of income loophole for housing vouchers, as part of a holistic look at improving the state of affordable housing for all Delaweareans.
* I formed the Arts & Culture Caucus, to bring into focus the vitality of artists and arts institutions and industry.
* I’ve persisted in developing a permit-to-purchase system for Delaware, soon to come, to reduce illegal trafficking and the rash use of firearms in the wrong hands.
* I championed LEOBOR reform, recognizing that community safety is multifaceted, and spurring important movement in accountability and transparency in our law enforcement practices.
Just to name a handful of pride points - with much more to come.

As we approach 2024, I am energized by the progress made but mindful of the work that still lies ahead. To renew my agenda for the coming term, I can’t wait to revisit the doorsteps of constituents, engaging in open conversations and hearing firsthand the evolving needs of our community.
I invite you to join me in this journey. Your contribution will empower us to renew our agenda through conversations, build on accomplishments and tackle the challenges that await us in the coming year.
