John,

2024 could go two ways, I think.

It could be a historically ugly partisan battle, with the people who
suffer worst from pollution and prisons and poverty lost in the melee.

Or, it could be the year where we stand together and work for “We, the
Dream” – a future of shared prosperity, freedom, and dignity for all of
us. Not just some. Not just people who agree with us or look like us. All
of us.

A year when we turbocharge the innovators disrupting mass incarceration
and make sure federal climate funding goes where it is needed, not to the
well-connected. A year of seeking out common ground instead of making new
enemies, and lifting up solutions instead of old grievances.

Which way it goes depends on getting to work without any delay – which
means it depends on having the resources to hit the ground running on
January 1. [ [link removed] ]Can you help? Make your tax-deductible, year-end gift now

Dream.Org can keep dreaming big because we’ve got the record to back it
up. In 2023, Dream.Org helped pass 6 criminal justice reform bills across
the country, delivered countless scholarships, lifted up 30 minority-owned
or justice-impacted entrepreneurs disrupting the criminal justice system
and climate tech industry, and secured equity provisions for an $18B
climate funding program to ensure that it reaches underserved communities.

But I’m not the kind of person to relax and point to the past. I want to
do more tomorrow. My gut says that’s how you are, too. So, here is what we
can do in 2024 with your help:

* Provide capacity, wisdom, and know-how so that minority-owned
businesses and disadvantaged communities can compete for millions in
federal climate funding
* Catalyze an ecosystem of justice tech innovators by supporting Justice
Innovation Prize finalists, and a community of leaders by cultivating
our nationwide Empathy Network.
* Unite and support BIPOC entrepreneurs and innovators transforming tech
and carving new roads to a future beyond pollution and prisons.

The short version? Less bickering, more progress. Less “us” and “them,”
more “We, the Dream.” Less pollution, fewer prisons, less poverty – and
more freedom and dignity for all.

Dreaming big means funding big dreams. If we want an economy that is green
for all, not just some, we need teams ready to help minority-owned
businesses and disadvantaged communities. If we want to disrupt mass
incarceration, someone will need to be there to support Empathy Network
leaders and connect innovators to each other.

We can’t wait until mid-year to get to work. We need to start strong in
January. Every dollar we raise before 2024 begins will have an outsized
impact. [ [link removed] ]Your year-end, tax-deductible gift will go to work starting Jan

With resources to invest in our teams and expand our programs, we can do
even more in 2024. We can transform a bitter election year into a growing
movement united behind a vision of “We, the Dream” – united to build a
country where all of us can thrive.

It takes all of us chipping in – so I hope you can help.
