** BIDEN WINS ARIZONA, FLORIDA, AND ILLINOIS PRIMARIES, TRUMP CLINCHES REPUBLICAN NOMINATION
------------------------------------------------------------
Joe Biden won Tuesday’s Democratic presidential primaries in Arizona, Florida, and Illinois. Biden is projected to win at least 249 of the 441 pledged delegates available. Bernie Sanders is projected to win at least 116. After tonight’s voting, 58% of Democratic pledged delegates will have been allocated.
Donald Trump won Tuesday’s Republican presidential primaries in Florida and Illinois. With these results, Trump crossed the delegate threshold necessary to clinch the Republican nomination—1,276 delegates.
Maryland and Ohio became the fourth and fifth states to move the dates of their presidential and congressional primaries. Ohio was originally scheduled to hold its primary March 17. Gov. Mike DeWine (R) proposed that the state hold its primary on June 2.
Maryland moved its primary Tuesday from April 28 to June 2. Nine states still have presidential primaries scheduled between today and April 28—Alaska, Hawaii, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. Together, those states will allocate 704 PLEDGED DELEGATES—about 18% of all pledged delegates—to the Democratic National Convention. Some of these states—such as New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island—are also actively discussing moving their primary dates due to coronavirus concerns at publication.

** FILING DEADLINE ROUNDUP
------------------------------------------------------------
Seventeen states have filing deadlines this month for congressional, state, and judicial candidates. Filing deadlines passed this week in Maine (March 16), Colorado (March 17), and New York (March 17).
New York's deadline was moved from April 2 after Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) signed an executive order Saturday that also reduced candidate petition signature requirements. Under that order, candidates needed to collect 30 percent of the statutory threshold. For example, congressional candidates needed to collect 375 signatures rather than 1,250.
Utah’s statewide filing deadline ([link removed]) is tomorrow, March 19. Candidates can file for:
* U.S. House (4 seats)
* State Senate (15 of 29 seats)
* State House (all 75 seats)
The next statewide filing deadline after that is Tuesday, March 24, for West Virginia ([link removed]) .
