Hi friend,
Over the past month, you’ve heard from a handful of folks affected by DACA.
Martha, Sheridan, and Bruna shared that getting DACA protections opened up their futures — allowing them to pursue education and careers in ways they couldn’t before.
We heard stories from Mari, Yazmin, and Karen, who all had a family member left behind by DACA — opening them up to being separated from their families.
JuanJo and Carolina told us how tired they are of the instability that comes along with being a DACA recipient — receiving safety in two-year increments and always having your protections hanging by a thread in the justice system.
And Katia and Judith bravely shared their experience of being left out of DACA, and how they deal every day with being undocumented — living in constant fear of being detained or deported.
Their stories are different, but they all share one thing in common: their resilience. 🧡
That’s why we at UWDA fight so hard — for Mari, Yazmin, Bruna, Katia, JuanJo, Carolina, Martha, Sheridan, Karen, Judith, and the millions of immigrants around the country working to chase their dreams and better their communities. Who just want to live free from the constant terror of being undocumented.
So please, when making your final end-of-year contributions, include United We Dream Action on your list of organizations to support. We have a tough year ahead, between DACA headed to the Supreme Court again and a presidential election — and our work is invaluable in the fight for immigrants’ rights.
Rush a contribution before midnight to help us meet our end-of-year fundraising goal:
