I don’t want to take time away from your holiday weekend, so I’ll be brief.

I’m Joshua’s mom, Jane. I’m reaching out because his biggest public filing deadline yet is just hours away.

Joshua’s campaign needs to raise $150,000 by midnight tonight. We would all be incredibly grateful if you could make a grassroots donation of any amount to help hit that goal.

We know we’re a bit biased, but Adam and I know better than anyone that he is ready to serve North Carolina as governor. We know it’s a major responsibility, but his dedication, drive, and empathy will serve him and all of us well.

Yet, this race is still nail-bitingly close. With an official public filing deadline at midnight tonight, we cannot afford to fall behind — Joshua’s opponents and political pundits are searching for any weakness.

Hi John, I’m Adam Stein, Josh’s dad.

I’m so proud of him and so grateful that so many of you have joined our team. We are working hard to ensure Josh is North Carolina’s next governor. Defeating Josh’s extremist GOP opponents won’t be easy. Together, we can do it. Pitch in any amount to say you’re with us.

My wife Jane and I taught our kids that it’s important to fight for what’s right, even if it isn’t easy. Back in the mid-1960s, my partners and I founded North Carolina’s first integrated law firm. We fought for civil rights and against segregation and discrimination. We faced intense resistance. Racist extremists firebombed our firm’s offices. We continued fighting to vindicate people’s civil rights.

Now, new extremists are working to undo so much of the progress we’ve made for civil rights, women’s rights, voting rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and more.

Right-wing extremism is a threat to the values we share, John, but I know that Josh is ready to hold the line and fight for what’s right. But to succeed, he needs your help.

Josh and his GOP opponent are neck-and-neck in the polls. We can’t afford to let the outcome of this race come down to chance. Josh urgently needs your support NOW to deliver a victory for North Carolina. We can’t wait.
