Dear John,
Earlier this week, we launched our year-end fundraising drive with an ambitious goal of raising $100,000. Now, with just one day left in our campaign, we've nearly reached our goal. But we need your help to get all the way there.
The reason this fundraising drive is so important is because the team here at Inequality Media has recently hit on some of the most effective messaging we’ve ever tested in our latest videos.
Usually, we hope that our videos will increase support by maybe 2 to 3 points. These latest videos, focused on inflation and corporate profiteering, are increasing support by 10 to 15 points!
That’s why we set such a high target for our year-end fundraising campaign — because we need to strike while the iron is hot.
Please chip in whatever you can afford right now and help Inequality Media meet our year-end fundraising goal.
One of my great fears about the future of American democracy is that Americans seem to have lost the ability to even try to persuade people who disagree with us.
We don't just have different opinions. We have different facts. Sometimes it’s like we’re living on completely different planets.
Of course, big corporations love that we’re so polarized. As long as working people are divided, their wealth and power are safe. And if you happen to be an aspiring authoritarian, then you absolutely need to keep Americans divided against each other.
That’s why they work so hard to fan the flames of culture war issues — to keep Americans at each other’s throats instead of working together.
Inequality Media was founded to break through the corporate media stranglehold on our democracy and use social media to provide Americans with the information they need to organize and demand a fair economy that works for all, not just the super-rich.
Over the last nine years, we’ve been through a lot, and we’ve learned a lot. We’ve built a massive following of over 8 million across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and beyond, allowing us to bypass the corporate media filter and reach people directly. We’ve also learned how to create videos and other content that resonate not just with people already on our side but conservatives and independents, too.
That’s why I truly believe that donating to Inequality Media is one of the most effective ways you can help make real change in America — and ultimately save our democracy.
So here’s my personal request to you as 2023 comes to a close: Please chip in whatever you can to Inequality Media and help meet our vitally important year-end fundraising goal.
Thank you for helping us change minds and make a difference in 2024,
Robert Reich
