Hi John,
2023 ends in a few hours, and with it a generous 1:1 match for every dollar given to the Saving Life on Earth Fund. Please give by our midnight deadline to make this match count.

Upwards of half the world's species are in decline. The loss of biodiversity is happening faster than ever.
Nearly 1 of every 3 plant and animal species could vanish forever by 2100.
To halt the extinction crisis and save at-risk plants and animals in the year ahead, we have to be bold. Signs of the biodiversity crisis are all around us.
That means restoring the Endangered Species Act to its full power and fending off attacks on this bedrock law by anti-wildlife forces in Congress.
It also means undoing decades of injustice to wildlife and restoring species to their native habitats. We want to bring jaguars back to the Southwest, expand grizzly bear habitat, and reintroduce sea otters along the West Coast.
In 2023 we gained protection for 45 species under the Act.
In the past month alone, we won lifesaving protection for wolverines, secured a national recovery plan for gray wolves, and helped protect cougars and bears in Washington state from overexploitation by hunters.
All told, this year, we protected 3.8 million acres of critical habitat for 44 species, including nearly 650,000 acres for red knot shorebirds and 739 acres for magnificent ramshorn snails in North Carolina.
We've shown time and time again that we can win for wildlife. In 30 years the Center has locked in protections for 758 species and more than half a billion acres of critical habitat.
In the year ahead, we'll keep fighting for species large and small. And we'll protect the oceans, rivers, deserts, mountains, plains and forests that allow them to survive.
Our love for the wild gives us hope and keeps us going.
This is my last message of the year. Please — stand with us to protect the species we cherish so deeply.
Double your gift now to our Saving Life on Earth Fund. All gifts through midnight tonight will be matched.
