While we must remain vigilant during this public health crisis, we must also look forward to what lies ahead this election season: electing a President who can begin to heal the wounds of this divided nation, and taking back the Senate majority so we can make progress on the issues Americans care about most. This includes quality, affordable health care and lowering the cost of prescription drugs; strengthening the economy for working families; protecting our environment; and forging a bright future for our children and grandchildren.
Our future is on the line in November. We must take back the Senate and the White House. But in light of this public health emergency, this is no ordinary election season.
To help slow the spread of coronavirus and keep my friends and supporters safe, I have canceled all public campaign events indefinitely. That means we need an extra boost from our online fundraising efforts at this moment if we’re going to keep this campaign on track to win big this November.
We need strong, competent leadership in times like these, which is why it’s even more critical that we take back the Senate and the White House from the Republicans this year. We simply cannot afford four more years of President Trump -- or two more years of Mitch McConnell.
I will keep doing everything I can -- like hosting virtual events, for example -- to get our message out during this uncertain time when I can’t be on the campaign trail in person. But I am also calling on my supporters to stand with me and ensure this crisis doesn’t slow down our pace. There is too much on the line in this election for us to let our campaign lose any momentum.
Most importantly, I hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy. Let’s continue to look out for one another and protect our public health during this crisis.
