All eleven post-election reports from the Registrar have shown our campaign out-polling Mr. Sherman. Although we acknowledge that not all votes have yet been counted, this consistent trend suggests Barbara will qualify for the November run-off. Today’s report shows our lead has increased to 169 votes.

It’s now time to turn our attention to the November campaign, which will offer voters a clear choice between the status quo at City Hall dominated by partisan politics and special interests on the one hand, and independent leadership with the experience and track record to make city government more accountable and efficient on the other.

ADDITIONAL UPDATE

At a special session of the city council this afternoon, the impacts of the COVID19 emergency were addressed and the council voted to refer to city staff suggested responses.

Barbara Bry and her campaign team has great empathy for all San Diegans impacted by this health crisis and supports the city taking timely action to address these impacts.

In reviewing specific recommendations brought back to the council by city staff, Barbara will be looking to ensure both renters and property owners are treated fairly, and that additional city actions are temporary, limited to the duration of the COVID19 emergency, and are consistent with the authority provided by the Governor’s executive order.

I would also encourage those who want additional information or need help during these difficult times to reach out to Barbara’s district office, where Barbara and her excellent staff have been working overtime to deliver level-headed news, information, and most importantly, service to those in need.
