To our supporters, 

For Save The Waves, our Coalition is one of the most valued and respected aspects of our organization. This crucial, community-based network allows us to tackle threats, both large and small, facing coastlines around the world and protect surf ecosystems that, ultimately, are invaluable features of our lives. 

Because we care about our Coalition, we are taking informed and cautionary steps to ensure the health of our staff and supporters in the face of COVID-19.

What are we doing?

• With our headquarters in Santa Cruz, CA - currently one of seven counties in the U.S. under a 'shelter-in-place' policy - Save The Waves staff will be working remotely from home until further notice so that we may further protect our community and each other. 

• We have officially postponed our annual gala 'Life Is A Wave' from May 15th to October 30th, 2020. Still to be hosted at The Dream Inn in Santa Cruz, we look forward to spending this wonderful evening with you all under safer circumstances.

• We are suspending fulfillment of merchandise orders from our online store until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we plan to complete your orders as soon as we are able to do so responsibly.

• Lastly, we have cancelled or postponed program trips to Latin America and the Pacific Islands to protect our local allies and the international community.

Despite current circumstances, there's also something truly amazing worth noting. This morning, each of our STW team members jumped on Zoom for our weekly staff meeting. We each shared our usual Tuesday Gratitudes, reported weekly tasks and priorities, and collaborated to ensure positive outcomes for our conservation programs.

Despite working in our own separate bubbles of isolation, we are still working together to protect the places you love. 

Please stay healthy, remain positive and follow the advice of health care professionals. We look forward to sharing a few waves with you all in the future.
