I'm Nezahat Yildirim, and I'm on the Türkiye & Syria Emergency Team. I'm grateful for this opportunity to thank you because caring people like you fuel my work here in the Middle East and everything Project HOPE does around the world.
I also wanted to personally ask you to donate to the 2023 HOPE for the Holidays Matching Gift Challenge. We're counting on compassionate humanitarians who haven't contributed yet to help us reach our $750,000 goal before midnight tomorrow.
The earthquakes and aftershocks that struck Türkiye & Syria in February destroyed water pipes and infrastructure -- putting everyone at risk of waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid. To help, our team installed 50 solar chlorination systems in rural villages giving 42,000 people the safe water they need to survive.
I know from first-hand experience how much Project HOPE can make a lifesaving difference -- from completing more reconstruction projects like the one I implemented in Türkiye, to training and supporting health workers with mental health care around the world. In fact, our earthquake response helped save lives and prevent health problems or epidemics for tens of thousands of people. Another example is the incubators Project HOPE donated to hospitals in the earthquake zone that helped more newborn babies survive and grow.
Being a humanitarian worker means you're ready and willing to help others when they're in need, regardless of their color, religion, gender, age or nationality. But even if you're not an aid worker, you can have a lifesaving impact as part of our team. With caring people like you helping, I know we can do more to help people all over the world survive and emerge from crises with resources to rebuild their lives and health. Please give today while your gift goes 3X as far.
With my sincere thanks,
Nezahat (Nez) Yildirim
