John,
Well, this was not the election day I envisioned when we embarked on this journey. We knew it would be tough, and we’d be the real underdogs; now we see that the COVID-19 outbreak is an added factor in this election.
We are angry and appalled by Illinois’ lack of leadership. The primary should have been postponed in the interest of public safety. Our representatives have the responsibility to put the safety of our families and communities first, and they failed miserably today.
For the last three years we have called for Medicare for All, housing as a human right, a federal jobs guarantee, protection for all workers, universal childcare and social and economic justice! The COVID-19 crisis has highlighted just how important this fight is and John, we’re not done!
No matter what happens tonight with the election results, nothing can take away from the work this team has done. The support you’ve given has lifted me up every day, and for that, I am forever grateful.
All power to the PEOPLE!
Anthony
