This is exactly what's wrong with Iowa's Republican governor.

Governor Reynolds and the other Republicans who are leading our state are not fighting for Iowans or our families. They're only interested in playing politics, regardless of how much they hurt Iowans. This is yet another low.

She's saying "no" to a Federal program that would have provided food for needy kids because she wants to "fight obesity." That's the type of policy Kim Reynolds supports. But starvation is not a legitimate strategy to fight obesity, and that's why I am fighting to ensure needy children have the nutrition they need.

We don't have any time to waste because we have to win this seat in 2024. So, with one day left in 2023, can you help me fight for hard working Iowans by chipping in $11 before the end of the year?

Sometimes it can get lonely being the only elected Democrat from Northwestern Iowa in the state House. When Kim Reynolds and her cronies are forcing extremist bills through the legislature – bills that I know (and they know) don't represent our community's values – I'm proud to stand up for working Iowans.

And I'll admit, sometimes it feels like I am yelling into the wind. But here's what keeps me going:

So, when Kim Reynolds won our district by 10 points in 2022, I knew we needed to grow our grassroots campaign right here in Sioux City because we deserve better.

Better than Reynolds and her extremists; better than book bans and bathroom bills; better than the MAGA hacks that claim to represent Iowans. We need a movement that stands up for what's right and stands tall for all.

Can I count on you to join our grassroots campaign and build the movement that Iowans need?

I got into politics because I saw where extremists were taking our state and now I am running for re-election to ensure our state never gets there.
