As we approach the end of 2023, I’m flipping through Advocates for Youth’s 2023 Annual Report, reflecting on what a challenging year it has been for Advocates’ young people and staff - and thinking about the resilience, determination, and resources it will take to keep this fight going in 2024.

Our Annual Report highlights the major victory young people were critical in securing - an over-the-counter birth control pill. It showcases the work of young people who found ways to support abortion access for everyone who needs it, including major advancements in medication abortion access for students on college campuses. It spotlights the founding of Act Out!, a nationwide network of young people working to ensure LGBTQ+ youth are safe and supported.

This work has never been easy. And an increasingly toxic political environment makes it even more demanding - and more urgent. But young people aren’t giving up the fight — and I’m committed to fighting alongside young people for as long as it takes. I hope you will join our work for a better 2024 and beyond.
