Dear John,

In June we received a call from a supporter in the Fort Worth area, Cheryl Bean. Cheryl is on the board for a charter school in the area. Some people were pressuring the Fort Worth Charter school to allow girls to compete in boys choir because of pressure from LGBT activists! So-we did what we do; we met with Cheryl, we put together a strategy and then we showed up and held a press conference and testified before the school board. After all the push back, media attention and anger from LGBT and ACLU supporters and supporters on our side, the board chose the Texas Values recommendations and voted and decided that they would keep the choirs separate and go off the child’s birth certificate at birth! Common sense values won because Cheryl Bean stood firm and reached out to Texas Values, and because people like you helped Texas Values have the strength and support to show up and win!! But then, the ACLU filed a complaint with the Biden federal Department of Education against the Fort Worth Charter School saying that girls should be allowed in the all boys choir. We pushed back and filed a response to this “sham” complaint that is not based on accurate law. Jonathan Covey the Policy Director for Texas Values said "This complaint is a politically motivated sham. Choirs separated by sex have always been recognized in law under Title IX, and there is good reason to do so. Allowing someone to break longstanding tradition for the sake of ideology only hurts deserving students who work hard to be there." Today, we are still protecting this victory and the charter school is still following their common sense policy, but it’s not over. Help us keep this victory and continue to stop the ACLU and others from trying to push local Fort Worth people around. This victory also helps other Texas school districts and the school district in your area see that they can do the right thing on our values and win!!
