[1]U.S. Senator Chris Murphy

The worst part of this job is asking people to contribute to my campaign, and I’m sorry to say but today is one of those days where I need to ask. Here’s why:

Tomorrow is the final FEC deadline of the year, one of the most important deadlines of my entire reelection. After it’s over, I am legally required to report my fundraising numbers publicly.

The only way any senator stands a chance against the super PACs and special interests is by raising the resources to compete with their limitless sums of dark money. So I cannot just stick my head in the sand and ignore it.

I wish what we had already raised was enough. I wish I never had to ask anything else of you, but Senate races are just expensive. Even a race like mine in Connecticut costs millions of dollars, and I’m doing this without a dime of PAC or corporate money.

So I hate to ask, and please know I wouldn’t if I didn’t know that your support makes a real difference for my reelection and the progressive change I can accomplish in Washington. But here it goes...

Can you please contribute to my reelection before tomorrow’s FEC deadline? Every donation matters. It helps me hold this seat and says that PACs and corporations are no match for our people power.

DONATE:[link removed]

I’m fighting to get big money out of politics. I believe public financing would make our democracy far healthier. But until we can secure that change, I’m grateful for this team and everyone who has my back. Thank you.

Every best wish,

Chris Murphy
