John, I hope you’re enjoying the holiday season and finding moments of peace after a busy and chaotic year. My team is still offline until the new year for our annual restorative break — but while I’ve been reflecting on 2023, I wanted to personally reach out to you with all of my thoughts. (There are a lot of them, so please bear with me!)
This year, our Vote Mama candidates won pivotal elections across the country. Overall, 79% of our endorsed mamas won their general election this cycle! These victories aren’t small wins — they will make a tangible difference in the lives of everyday families:
- In Virginia, Democrats flipped the House and held the Senate in Virginia, blocking a GOP trifecta that would have taken away reproductive rights for millions of people.
- In Ohio, voters passed Issue 1 and protected abortion access.
- AND Vote Mama candidates defeated extremist Moms For Liberty opponents.
These were not easy wins for Democrats, but when moms run and champion progressive issues, they deliver. The strength, focus, and motivation of these candidates was unmatched and the results speak for themselves.
Now, as we look ahead to 2024, it’s clear that Vote Mama needs to expand its operation to make an even bigger impact in the most consequential election year yet. This is why our team has nearly doubled in size with the addition of 5 new staff members to help take our work to the next level!
We are ready to flip seats from red to blue across the country to flip the U.S. House, hold the U.S. Senate, and take back our School Boards from extremists.
This year gave us a LOT of hope about what Democratic moms can do when we rally together around key issues — but we cannot do it without a grassroots army of everyday people like you standing with us in the fight.
Early money NOW is crucial as we make plans for 2024, which is why we MUST close this year out strong.
