============================

John – 19 years ago, when I moved to New York City from the Caribbean, I became a nanny.

Whatever was dished out by my employer – including disrespect – was what I took. When I asked other nannies, they told me that’s just how it was. But I’m not telling a sad story: things are changing!

Nannies are becoming aware that their rights are being violated; they are realizing they deserve the money owed to them. Nannies are willing to stand against these violations.

I’m very proud to be part of that change, on a team that has helped train more than 500 nannies with the We Rise Nanny Training program, and I want to ask for your support to keep it going.

Can you make a donation to NDWA to help them reach their December 31 goal of raising $15,000? A generous supporter will match all gifts up to $15,000, doubling your donation’s impact.

If you have saved your payment information with FastAction, your contribution will go through immediately on clicking a link.

I’m a newborn care specialist, and I love taking care of babies and families! Babies are very demanding, and parents need support, and I like being able to provide that support.

I’m also a trainer with the We Rise Nanny Training program where I train in two modules: Child Social and Emotional Training and Pediatric First Aid. We teach for about six weeks with 3-3.5 hour sessions on Saturdays, and, at the end, participants get a certificate from Cornell University.

It’s not just about skills. The training enables them to have better interviews, make requests of employers, stand their ground, and ask for higher wages.

If we want an industry that nannies can thrive in, we need to bring in more nannies to this training program. That’s why I’m asking: will you support NDWA with a donation today, which will be doubled by a generous donor, to help reach their goal of raising $15,000 by December 31?

I really hope we can continue this training. People are relying on us to find and help them. NDWA provides a place of community for coming together — a safe space to share and learn from each other.

Thanks for helping make that possible,
