Help us continue to stand with women and create BIG impact
Hi Friend,
IW produced a significant amount of impact in 2023 - because of YOU! Your loyalty enabled us to get our message in front of Congress, pass the Women’s Bill of Rights in four states, and push for better policy in various essential areas, and take critical action to counter gender ideology. We could not accomplish any of this without your generosity!
Protecting Women’s Sports and Title IX IW helped pass The Fairness in Women's Sports Act (HB 574) in North Carolina, which prohibits male athletes from competing in female sports, as well as having assisted in amending the bill to extend protections to include collegiate athletics.
Identity Crisis Series
This year, our identity crisis series included multiple new stories and our documentaries amassed over 1.3 million views and impressions across various platforms.
IWF storytellers testified in multiple states to support bills protecting minors from so-called “gender-affirming care” resulting in state legislation advancing.
IW helped de-transitioners Prisha Mosley and Soren Aldaco pursue lawsuits against the doctors who performed their gender-changing surgeries. We connected them with attorneys who signed with them to take their cases and pursue justice. IWF also supported and coordinated media for two lawsuits brought by de-transitionersLayton Uleryand Isabelle Ayala.
ON THE POLICY FRONT
After EFC Director Ginny Gentles called on lawmakers to pass the Parents’ Bill of Rights, in March that call came to fruition when it was passed in the US House of Representatives.
The CEC established a National Energy Appreciation Day (NEAD) by working with members of Congress, industry leaders, and coalition partners. NEAD will now be officially observed annually on October 4th.
Sorority Lawsuit - Westenbroek v. Kappa Kappa Gamma: IWLC has been working with the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority sisters and alumnae who have sued their national leadership for allowing a male into the sorority, violating its bylaws. May Mailman, Senior Legal Fellow at IWF, is overseeing this litigation as it enters the appeals process and we’ve already had our first win. Kappa tried to toss the case for lack of appellate jurisdiction, we responded, and the court scheduled the case for merits briefing. Our first brief was filed December 5th in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit representing the six women in the sorority. This is the FIRST significant case to ask whether groups can define women to include men, or whether they have to say they are changing their membership criteria. Watch May Mailman’s interview about the case with Fox News here.
We would not be able to have the impact we do in our nation without your support – thank you! We are so grateful for your continued loyalty and for participating in our mission. Join us in standing up for women:
