John,
Everyday acts of kindness go a long way in helping to keep our families and
communities — both animals and people — safe and healthy. We are grateful for the kindness you’ve shown as a member of the Animal Legal
Defense Fund family.
In light of the challenges our communities are facing, and the deep concern our
members have for the well-being of animals and people, we want to take a moment
to share with you the steps we are taking in response to the COVID-19 virus. We
want our members and partners to know that we are taking every measure
recommended by the Centers for Disease Control, as well as increased
precautions, to protect our staff and all those we work with. This will help to
ensure that our critical work for animals continues.
As long as there are animals who need us, we will fight for them.
Due to temporary changes in our operating procedures, you may experience a delay
in assistance responding to your inquiries. We appreciate your patience and
understanding during this time. Though many state legislatures have suspended or
ended sessions early, our work continues through outreach, coalition building,
and grassroots campaigns. Our litigation and support for prosecutors and law
enforcement will also continue and we will keep you updated on the impact we are
making together to improve animals’ lives. We thank you for the care and concern
you have shown, and we appreciate your continued, heartfelt commitment to making
our society a more compassionate place for all. For the animals,
Stephen Wells
Executive Director
