Queer and transgender people are under attack.
Queer and trans people are organized. We are strong. We are everywhere.
We live in big cities on the coasts, but even more of us live in small towns and communities in the states the media fails to talk about and where resources for doing this work are slim.
Yet, we’re still doing it. We may be under attack, but we’re putting up a hell of a fight. Our state partners are in local communities, showing up again and again despite the brutal legislative sessions and the increasing onslaught of anti-LGBTQ+ hatred and violence.

We know that there must always be a political home for LGBTQ+ people, always someone at the ready to step up and fight, because we are everywhere.
Equality Federation was created to support these political homes, to accelerate advocacy through capacity building and leadership development of those who are closer to the problem and the solutions.
The immediate fight to protect our community is not in a handful of states, it’s in every state. And the long-term fight to create the world we desire won’t be led by national politicians but by the people living and fighting in their hometowns.
So what do we do? We’re doing it - we just need to do more of it, we need to center the advocacy of trans folks, we need to be better resourced, and we need people with us for the long haul.
Queer and trans people have always been here, fighting for ourselves, and we’re not going anywhere.
