Trump fears justices he appointed will keep him off states' ballots
The serially indicted insurrectionist has reportedly "expressed concern" that conservative justices on the Supreme Court tasked with deciding whether he will appear on the 2024 ballots of multiple states will actually rule against him for fear of appearing "political." The word you're looking for there is "prudent," Donald. And while we certainly aren't holding our breath that right-wing ideologues on the high court will actually do the right thing here, the case itself could not be simpler, so the disgraced ex-president has good reason to be afraid.

Have dinner with Bradley Whitford. Yes, THAT Bradley Whitford
WisDems: If you're of a certain age, you probably learned everything you know about politics from Bradley Whitford's West Wing character, Josh Lyman, as you hid from the realities of the George W. Bush years. If you're any age, you probably remember the Wisconsin Democratic Party transforming a Republican-trending Trump state to a Democratic juggernaut that flipped for Biden, re-elected Tony Evers, and just threw out its racist gerrymandered maps after turning its state Supreme Court progressive this year. It doesn't matter how old you are — this is the coolest political event of the year. Check out this message from Bradley and chip in $20 or more to the best state party in the country for your chance at dinner with TV star and all-around great guy, Bradley Whitford (the more you contribute, the greater your chances of winning)!

Nikki Haley says she'd pardon Trump if she somehow manages to become president
Desperate to change the subject from her abominable town hall slavery gaffe on Wednesday, one-time Trump lackey and current White House longshot Nikki Haley reassured MAGA land that, should she somehow become president, she would pardon the disgraced ex-president because, uh, amnesty would be "in the best interest of the country," whatever that's supposed to mean. Fun fact: Trump is currently facing 87 felony charges across Florida, New York, and Georgia. Gonna take a whole lotta pardoning, to wipe that filthy slate clean.

Ohio’s Republican governor bucks own party, vetoes ban on gender-affirming care for minors and sports ban
Gov. Mike DeWine is one of only a handful of Republican governors to veto restrictions on transition-related care for minors or bans on trans student-athlete participation. DeWine said the "gut-wrenching" decision about whether a minor should have access to gender-affirming care "should not be made by the government, should not be made by the state of Ohio," rather it should be made by the child’s parents and doctors. Correct. Stand by and stay tuned for apoplectic, right-wing fits and rabid calls for DeWine's banishment from the Grand Old Party for daring to be sensible. This type of measured thinking clearly cannot stand.
