Persistent Moon

By Carol Kanter

Near full, she lingers high west

mid-morn, night’s far stars

tucked at rest.

Stoic cameo worn thin

against crystal sky,

loath to dim,

she does her best to shed light

on silos where hate

clones, incites

pride, lies, rage...offense…

violence.

Carol Kanter’s poetry has appeared in over seventy literary journals and

anthologies. FinishingLine Press published her first two chapbooks: “Out of

Southern Africa,” and “Chronicle of Dog.” Peterborough Poetry Project published

her third, “Of Water.”
