We are in a crisis -- and it's more than our health that is at stake.

As the coronavirus continues to spread, the threat to working people across the country, and particularly here in Alaska, grows even greater.

Alaska is fueled by small businesses and tourism -- making our people particularly vulnerable to the effects of this pandemic. We need to take action now -- and I've been working hard to find a solution that works quickly and effectively.

That's why I put forward a prescription that Washington can fill today to mitigate the economic impact of this epidemic for workers and families. Please take a moment to read the plan -- and then call on Dan Sullivan and Mitch McConnell to take immediate action to protect families in Alaska and across the country.

Putting more money in the pockets of Alaskans with a payroll tax cut
Backing Alaska Small Businesses and their Employees
Protecting Alaskan Workers and Businesses in the Tourism Industry
Supporting Alaskan Energy Workers
Repairing our Ferry System and Provide Emergency Healthcare Facilities
Improving access and scope of unemployment insurance (UI) for Alaskans

It is crucial that we do all we can to alleviate the short-term and long-term effects that this outbreak will have. That's why my coronavirus Rx plan makes sure families can access tax cuts immediately, small businesses can provide paid sick leave to all employees, and individuals are protected with expanded unemployment benefits.

We are already feeling the impact of coronavirus on our communities. And as we ask our neighbors to continue to wash their hands and social distance to protect themselves and each other -- we must also call on Congress to help protect us in return.

We are doing our part. We must make sure they do theirs.
