IMPORTANT MESSAGE: CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19

March 17, 2020

Child Action, Inc. remains committed to the services that we provide to Sacramento County. Our hearts go out to all those impacted by COVID-19 - this includes not only those diagnosed with the virus, but also their friends and family, those whose jobs and schools have been impacted and so many more. Our focus is, as always, on the health and safety of our employees, clients and the community.

As the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues to spread globally, Child Action, Inc. is taking appropriate precautions to address the outbreak by following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In Sunday's press release, Governor Gavin Newsom asked that the highest at-risk groups stay home; we fully support his recommendation. In an effort to respond to this health risk proactively, we will be limiting the ways in which we provide services to our clients and implementing social distancing.  We believe that these measures are ultimately the best course of action for the safety of all.

Effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020, our office will be temporarily closed to the public, walk-ins will not be allowed.
  • All necessary paperwork, including attendance forms being submitted for payment should be mailed or may be dropped off using the drop box located next to the front door of 9800 Old Winery Place.
  • All childcare subsidy enrollment or recertification appointments (parent and provider) will be conducted by phone, e-mail and/or fax
  • All childcare referrals and information will be available over the phone, online through our website (www.childaction.org), and by e-mail
  • Workshops and site visits have been postponed

We have also reduced the work hours of our staff which may cause a delay in our response time. However, we remain diligent in providing you with the best service possible during this trying and unprecedented time.

We want to express that we did not come to this decision lightly. We have implemented this strategy to keep our clients, staff and the community healthy.

If you have any question or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at (916) 369-0191.

Thank you for your understanding,

Tracey Strack, Executive Director
