Nigerian Nightmare: Christmas Eve Slaughter Kills and Wounds Hundreds |
by Suzanne Bowdey |
Like moms all around the world, Grace Godwin was cooking Christmas Eve dinner when life took a terrifying turn. Standing in her Nigerian kitchen, Grace's husband ran into the room and shouted at her to take the children and run. Go to the bush, he ordered after alarm spread that gunmen were in a nearby town. Everyone in the central Plateau knows what happens to Christians. In the time that it took her to gather her three little ones, they started to hear the unmistakable sound: rifle shots. |

A Tribute to Don Wildmon: 'Only Through Adversity Are True Heroes Born' |
by Sarah Holliday |
For over 45 years, Wildmon faithfully served the Lord in the face of severe adversity, and on December 28, 2023, the beloved founder, minister, husband, father, and friend went home to be with the Lord. Wildmon championed the belief that we had a duty to join the game of defending truth. But for Wildmon, if we were going to play, we had to play to win. "Only through adversity are true heroes born," he urged. And his life was certainly a reflection of such thinking. |

The Greatest Blessing |
by Rob Schwarzwalder |
As a committed evangelical Protestant, I feel a bit uncomfortable writing about the pope's recent decision to allow Roman Catholic priests to bless same-sex unions. But Pope Francis's "Fiducia Supplicans" ("Supplicating Trust"), his declaration on blessing same-sex couples issued on December 18, is far more than a kindly attempt to broaden his church's reach. |

Celebrities and pop stars who struggle with mental health issues or promote therapy at their concerts is not a new concept to the media, but enduring a public therapy session apparently is.
