DELIVERING THE LARGEST PAY RAISE FOR OUR TROOPS IN OVER 20 YEARS
Upholding my oath to the Constitution and my commitment to our troops, I voted for the fiscal year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act.
This legislation fully funds the deployment of the U.S. National Guard to help secure our southern border, allows states to use materials rusting at the border for construction of the wall, and delivers the largest pay raise — a 5.2 percent increase — for our troops in more than 20 years.

MY SUPPORT FOR THE PARENTS BILL OF RIGHTS ACT
In March, I voted for the Parents Bill of Rights Act.
As a father of four, I believe that parents have a fundamental right to be involved in their children’s education.

SUPPORTING OUR POLICE OFFICERS AND THEIR K9 PARTNERS
Our police and law enforcement officers make incredible sacrifices to protect our families and communities and undertake many responsibilities outside of the public eye. That includes caring for police K9s – which assist officers in seizing drugs, tracking missing people, and detaining criminals – during their service and after their retirement. These police K9s are vital partners in ensuring public safety and spearheading the fight against crime and the fentanyl epidemic.
That’s why I introduced legislation – the Honoring Police Officer and K9 Service Act – to help our police cover the costs of maintaining K9s in their departments and ensure that police dogs receive the quality care and treatment that they deserve after a lifetime of service.

ONE LAST THING: MARSHALLTOWN MOTHER TO BE HONORED IN THE ROSE PARADE
Milisa Tyler, who lost her son Dominic "DJ" Ogden in 2020, will be honored during the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California for her work and advocacy at the Iowa Donor Network.
DJ saved at least four lives because he was registered as an organ donor.
What an amazing story from the result of a terrible tragedy.

MY WEEKLY COLUMN: A YEAR OF RESULTS FOR IOWA
As Iowa’s voice in Congress, I take my job very seriously and work every day to advance strong policies that benefit our families, farmers, main street businesses, and rural communities. Serving on both the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Agriculture Committee, I’m proud to report that we’ve achieved many significant legislative victories.
From cutting taxes for hardworking families to laying the groundwork for passing a strong Farm Bill, my work on these influential committees has given Iowa a voice in the process and a seat at the table in our nation’s capital. The House Republican Conference has also upheld our Commitment to America by supporting legislation to rebuild our economy, restore accountability in government, and deliver results for the American people.
