Friend,
We are in the midst of an unprecedented public health crisis that relies on us staying in our homes. Thousands of New Yorkers are facing lay offs or losing pay due to closures of stores, restaurants and bars. Even more are choosing between risking their health or the health of their loved ones and losing income they need to survive. No one should be struggling to pay rent and buy basic necessities during this crisis. Postponing evictions is not enough. We need to suspend all rent, mortgage and utility payments for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis. Click here and sign our petition.
Suspending rent, mortgage and utility payments for the duration of the crisis will help keep New Yorkers in their homes, and stabilize our economy and our state. This problem will not disappear once the threat of COVID-19 has passed. Neither should our relief measures.

92,000 people are homeless -- living shoulder to shoulder in shelters, at very high risk of COVID-19. We must immediately move New Yorkers into permanent housing using all vacant property (public or private). We need to invest in rental assistance and permanent, high-quality public, and/or social housing.
