Dear John,
It’s almost the New Year, and that calls for some resolutions.
I’ve got three resolutions in mind for the news media in 2024 that, if taken on, would vastly improve the coverage of this white-knuckler of an election cycle.
Check out our new Video of the Week and see what resolutions I’d like journalists to adopt in 2024. Then share it with a friend or family member!
One thing all three of these resolutions have in common: They address the media’s current twisted interpretation of what it means to be “impartial.”
Good journalists should not seek “balance” between truth and lies. They should be unambiguously on the side of the truth.
And in covering democracy versus fascism, good journalists must not normalize fascism. They have a responsibility to expose how far it is from the bedrock values of America.
They should be wholly, unequivocally, and resolutely on the side of democracy.
May 2024 bring us, our nation, and the world a renewed commitment to peace, the rule of law, and democratic values!
Thanks for watching
