Friends and Colleagues,

Despite this year’s Congress being one of the least productive in modern American history, With Honor Action and the bipartisan veteran leaders we work with passed 63 pieces of bipartisan legislation principally through the National Defense Authorization Act.

For Country Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Jason Crow, an Army Ranger and veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, reflected on these results, the consequential year ahead, and the importance of having one of the few functional bipartisan platforms left in Congress in this Sirius XM radio interview ([link removed]) to an audience of more than 10 million Americans.

Highlights from our legislative results in 2023 include:
* Launched a pilot Civilian Cybersecurity Reserve
* Passed additional recommendations from the bipartisan National Security Commission on AI
* Expanded JROTC in U.S. public high schools for the first time in generations
* Re-authorized and expanded the Troops to Teachers program to help veterans transition to careers serving again as educators back at home
* Granted parental leave access to more 1 million + reserve and National Guard servicemembers
* Improved mental health access for servicemembers and veterans with new legislation and oversight of the Brandon Act
* Passed key provisions to guarantee the U.S. always has access to important minerals, resources used in everything from MRI machines to fighter jets
* Passed amendments to strengthen allies under siege, including Ukraine, Taiwan, Israel, and other democracies around the world in the face of rising authoritarian aggression and terrorism
