NBC: Ron DeSantis' big bet on door-knocking put to the test in Iowa
<[link removed]>
"A key group backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ presidential bid bet at the
outset of his campaign that the path to the nomination ran through literally
out-knocking the competition on his behalf. So it did. In early-voting states,
the super PAC Never Back Down blanketed the ground with canvassers who knocked
on hundreds of thousands of doors again and again (and in some cases, again and
again after that), hoping to spread DeSantis’ message and better introduce him
to the electorate. Never Back Down, which runs much of DeSantis’ ground game,
planned to spend $100 million carrying it out, and it invited reportersinside
its door-knocking boot camp

in Iowa. The group says it has hit 812,000 homes in Iowa — more than half of
the total number of households in the state. A similar share was hit in South
Carolina, where the group says it knocked on more than 968,000 doors. In New
Hampshire, another 385,000."
Florida Politics: After Christmas, Ron DeSantis resumes campaigning in Iowa,
New Hampshire
<[link removed]>
"Christmas is over and the stretch run to January presidential nominating
contests has begun for Ron DeSantis. Starting on Thursday, the Republican
candidate is back on the road in Iowa for two days, followed by a trip to New
Hampshire Saturday for various events. The morning event Thursday, a “parental
rights roundtable,” is set for Ankeny sometime after 10:00 a.m. Central Time.
The Governor will host that one by himself, but will be joined by special
guests at subsequent stops."
The Hill: DeSantis knocks Haley over Civil War remarks: ‘Incomprehensible word
salad’
<[link removed]>
<[link removed]>
"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) went after fellow GOP candidate Nikki Haley on
Thursday over her remarks failing to acknowledge slavery as the cause of the
Civil War. The Florida governor told reporters in Iowa that Haley’s explanation
for the Civil War was “incomprehensible word salad” and called her “not a
candidate that’s ready for prime time.” Haley’s comments came at a Wednesday
event in New Hampshire, where she responded to a voter asking her thoughts on
the cause of the Civil War. She answered that the war was about “the freedoms
of what people could and couldn’t do.” When specifically confronted by the
voter about slavery, she responded, “What do you want me to say about slavery?”
DeSantis framed the episode as an example of how Haley isn’t ready to be
president."

Governor Ron DeSantis has never backed down from a tough fight. He’s a native
Floridian with blue-collar roots, played baseball at Yale, and graduated with
honors from Harvard Law School. He served in the Navy as a JAG officer in Iraq,
worked as a federal prosecutor, and worked in the halls of Congress. As
governor, he has kept Florida free, taken on woke corporations, and stood up to
the liberal media.
Will you join us in supporting Ron DeSantis for president now?

He’s the freedom fighter that America needs.
