*Governor Gordon Appoints Robin Cooley to be a District Court Judge for the First Judicial District?*

?

CHEYENNE, Wyo. ? ?Governor Mark Gordon has appointed Robin Cooley to be a District Court Judge for the First Judicial District serving Laramie County. Cooley?s appointment fills the vacancy left by the retirement of District Court Judge Thomas Campbell.

Cooley has served as Director of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services since 2019. She was appointed to the Wyoming Public Service Commission in 2017, serving as Vice Chairman and was a board member of the Wyoming State Board of Equalization from 2015-2017. She previously served as Special Counsel for Governor Matt Mead, and as Deputy Attorney General in the Human Services Division and a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Civil and Criminal Divisions of the Wyoming Attorney General?s Office. Prior to government service, Ms. Cooley was in private practice in Cheyenne for 5 years.? A Wyoming native, Cooley earned her Bachelor's and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Wyoming.

?Robin?s extensive legal experience, which includes extensive pro-bono work and practicing before the Wyoming Supreme Court, as well as her service as an administrative hearing officer, make her well-prepared to serve the First Judicial District,? Governor Gordon said.

?I want to express my deepest gratitude for the Governor?s confidence and support in this appointment,? Cooley said. ?I look forward to contributing to my community and this State in this new role.?

The appointment is effective March 17, 2024.
