John – we wanted to share some exciting research about environmental voters and their impact on the election.
A group in Boston called the Environmental Voter Project analyzed voters' top priorities when going to the polls. They found that the number of voters whose top priority is climate change has risen, and is becoming an increasingly large share of the voting population.
Here’s what that means: Environmental voters can swing elections, and our work on the climate is gaining momentum.
These so-called “climate-first” voters are becoming more and more prevalent across the country, and their share is only getting bigger. And nearly 60% of all voters support action on climate change.
The share of climate voters is growing fastest in states like Arizona and New Mexico. Interestingly, the second-largest age group of climate voters (behind young people) are voters over the age of 65.

Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
