2023 has been a monumental year for the Innocence Project.
From seeing Ian Schweitzer jump into the ocean for the first time in 25 years after his exoneration in Hawaii, to honoring the incredible Sharonne Salaam, mother of Exonerated Five member Yusef Salaam at our annual gala, to learning about the birth of Rosa Jimenez’s granddaughter during her exoneration — these moments remind us why this work is so critical.
We’re thrilled to share that this year, we were able to exonerate nine people and, in partnership with our Innocence Network colleagues, pass 11 policies across the country to help transform our criminal legal system. Your unwavering support has played a pivotal role in making these achievements possible.
We want to make sure we can continue this work next year, and go even bigger. If 2,024 supporters donate before midnight on Dec. 31, a generous donor will give a special $200,000 gift to support our work in the new year. A matched gift right now will help us support and advance the Innocence Project's critical work to restore lives, families, and communities by freeing innocent people. Will you make a donation before the final Dec. 31 deadline? [[link removed]]

The Innocence Project works to free the innocent, prevent wrongful convictions, and create fair, compassionate, and equitable systems of justice for everyone. Founded in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, the organization is now an independent nonprofit. Our work is guided by science and grounded in anti-racism.
