John,
Since I founded the party in 2018 I’ve
received many questions and criticisms about the name we’ve chosen for
our party, People’s Party of Canada.
People tell me
it reminds them of authoritarian countries masking themselves as
democratic like the People’s Republic of China or the Democratic
People’s Republic of Korea.
But I’ve always liked the
name.
Actually, there are several People’s Parties in
Europe that share the same populist, conservative and libertarian
ideas.
And that name reminds me that Canada is not just a
geographic location. Not just some land, water, and trees with a
government to manage things.
We are also a people with
a rich history and culture.
We have an identity which
deserves to be recognized, defended, and preserved.
Our people are too often taken for granted in this
country.
We are an afterthought as our government
sends money abroad and tries (and fails) to solve problems around the
world.
We suffer as our healthcare system becomes more
dysfunctional and our education system indoctrinates our children to
hate themselves and their history.
We’re talked down to by
politicians and media elites who hand wave away our concerns and tell
us that we’re just racist.
Well I’m here to tell you,
it’s not racist to put your fellow countrymen before foreigners.
It’s not racist to want to preserve Canadian
identity.
And it’s not racist to want your children and
grandchildren to grow up in a country that resembles the one where you
did!
That’s why we chose the name People’s Party of
Canada. Because that’s what Canadian politics needs, for our people to
be put FIRST.
That’s why I love the name People’s
Party of Canada. I hope you do too!

they get no government refund.
