This is Dr. Una Clarke – former NYC Council Member and Yvette’s mother.
Some of you may have met me in person at campaign events, some of you may have received messages from me in the past, and for some of you, this is your first time hearing from me. Either way, I wanted to thank you for being part of the Clarke campaign.
It means the world to me that you care about Brooklyn just as much as I do – I moved here after immigrating from Jamaica in 1958, and I’ve been dedicated to giving back to this community ever since. During my decade as a Council Member, I sponsored over 300 pieces of legislation on issues including education, access to healthcare, public safety, and more.
I am incredibly proud of my daughter Yvette for continuing my legacy of fighting for Brooklyn’s working families and communities in need. And in order for her to continue this work, she needs your support.
