When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year, we knew anti-abortion politicians would do everything in their power to build on that catastrophic decision and work to erode abortion access entirely.

State legislatures across the country began to introduce and pass abortion ban after abortion ban at an unprecedented rate, and we knew that was only the beginning.

Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans continue to run on loathsome, inflammatory, and dangerous platforms to take away our autonomy — in tandem with an extremist movement to criminalize abortion providers and patients. We know the path ahead is going to be challenging.

Medication abortion — often referred to as the abortion pill — is effective, safe, and very common. It accounts for more than half of abortions in the United States. This Supreme Court case targets mifepristone, one of two medications taken to end a pregnancy.

If mifepristone is restricted nationwide, it will have devastating consequences — particularly for Black, brown, and Indigenous people and low-income and working families, who are disproportionately impacted by abortion bans.
