Think back to this time in 2020 — Folks wanted to be figuring out holiday plans and buying presents, the election was over and Joe Biden had won, but instead we were all glued to our televisions.

Why? Because, despite a clear winner in the 2020 election, Donald Trump and his MAGA acolytes were perpetrating the biggest fraud in American history.

Slates of fake electors, lawsuits to void election results in key states, making phone calls pressuring officials to just "find 10,000 more votes," and dubious legal theories grounded in fantasy, not fact. Soon this all culminated with the Capitol riot on January 6th, 2021.

This was Donald Trump's attempt to subvert American Democracy and steal an election. It was vicious, depraved, and the biggest threat to the United States since the civil war.

Today, you can see that history is about to repeat itself, but the outcome may be even worse this time : Donald Trump is poised to capture the Republican nomination, MAGA extremists control the United States House of Representatives, and the far-right has a shot at winning the Senate.

On January 6th, 2021, our republic was preserved because people stood up for democracy, but we cannot count on that in 2025.

One Country Fund was set up to protect our democracy and stand up for our communities. 2024 will be a pivotal year for our country. We can't win just barely, we have to win up and down the ballot, otherwise democracy may not have another chance.
