Dear Friend,
As the holidays approach, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your commitment to advancing our mission and making 2023 a year to celebrate.
Over the past 12 months, we continued to see transformative developments in cystic fibrosis care and research while people with CF lived longer than at any time in history. The median predicted life expectancy for a child with CF today has reached 56 years, up 18 years from just a decade ago, and that number continues to climb.
Today, the Foundation is funding innovative CF research programs with leading and emerging biotech companies, with many focused on early-stage research into genetic therapies — our best hope for a cure. We are also at the forefront of new therapeutics to improve life for people with CF right now.
What I have been particularly inspired by this year is not only the fact that new families have joined us in this fight, but by the steadfastness of our longstanding community members. Across the country, volunteers rolled up their sleeves — participating in thousands of events, from Great Strides walks to advocacy meetings to Finest events and golf tournaments. Volunteers led CF Cares events, joined our Tomorrow’s Leaders program, and became proud Grampions. They donated online, through the mail, and in gala ballrooms from coast to coast.
We need you. Your support propels progress. Every donation, no matter how large or small, impacts the lives of people with CF. We are living in a new era of CF research, and so much progress is on the horizon. There has never been a better time to give, so if you have not made a gift yet this year, please consider doing so.
I also want to thank all those who have joined our Milestones III: Driven by a Dream campaign, led by CF father and Chair Joe O’Donnell. We have raised more than $140 million to date and are so grateful.
We look forward to 2024 as we drive our mission forward. We will never settle for less than curing CF. Best wishes for a happy holiday season with your loved ones.
