| John, Recently, the U.S. Senate passed its version of the Fiscal Year 2024 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD) Appropriations Act. The House did not pass its version of the FY 2024 THUD bill yet but did agree to a Continuing Resolution until January 19. This critical legislation will determine the future of public transportation investment for communities of all sizes across the country. While the Senate version of the bill provides the overwhelming majority of funding for public transit and passenger rail, the House legislation as it stands severely decreases funding for public transit well below the authorized funding levels from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
