The GOP’s new Speaker Mike Johnson is an extremist sitting right in Trump’s back pocket, there’s no other way to say it. He wants to ban abortion nationally without exception, make cuts to Social Security and Medicare, and he believes gay marriage should be outlawed.

There’s no sugarcoating it, this is the tragic reality of the current House majority.

I’ve spent my entire career defending our Constitution and the rights it guarantees all Americans – I did it as a lawyer, and I’m doing it now as a Congresswoman. And I will not stand by as Mike Johnson tears all of our work and progress down.

Democrats need to use every tool we have to fight back as we head into 2024 with the foundations of our democracy at stake.
