Dear friend,

As part of the Latin American Green Wave, we celebrated another historic victory this year. Mexico's Supreme Court of Justice ruled that regulating abortion as a crime through the federal penal code is unconstitutional. With your support, this Green Wave of liberalization, a movement pushing for expanded abortion access throughout Latin America, is getting stronger every day.

As we move into 2024, the Center for Reproductive Rights will continue advancing efforts to ensure that reproductive rights are recognized as fundamental human rights. Your support right now, matched 10X through December 31, will allow our team to continue this vital work throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, and beyond. [[link removed]]

CONTINUE THE WAVE [[link removed]]

The victory for abortion rights in Mexico strengthens a recent trend in the region of recognizing abortion and reproductive health care as fundamental rights. Over the past few years, your support of the Center has helped to advance major progress in Latin America, including:

* The decriminalization of abortion in Argentina up to 14 weeks of gestation in 2020.
* The Constitutional Court of Colombia’s 2022 ruling to decriminalize abortion up to 24 weeks of gestation in the "Causa Justa" lawsuit by the Center and our partners.
* Helping the Green Wave reach Brazil, where a decision from the Supreme Federal Court about the decriminalization of abortion up to 12 weeks of gestation is pending.

Your support right now [[link removed]] will go toward our work to end total bans in countries where abortion is illegal, guarantee the full range of reproductive health care to girls and adolescents, guarantee quality maternal health care, and work on strategies to address how environmental degradation is causing reproductive damage to women and girls.

Thank you for supporting our work to expand the Green Wave to reach all residents of Latin America and the Caribbean—and to liberalize abortion worldwide. [[link removed]]
